This sounds very disturbing. Anyone else hear about this.

Apparently, Insurance companies can exclude benefits for injuries which occur while engaging in "dangerous activities" (which includes mountain biking) due to proposed Federal regulations that are currently in effect as interim rules. Insurance coverage itself can not be denied.

I'm going to have to look into this more.

How about a rate reduction for engaging in "healthy activities" (Mountain biking!!!)?

Yup i heard about that too. I forget where I think it was at Extreme mountain biking (http://extreme.nas.net). I thought it to be bull. I do drag racing on the side and I have found that to be WAAAY more dangerous when things go wrong, but I would be covered if lets say a rod went through the block started a fire and burned me.

sucks big time.. they had some info on where to fight at.

I guess when you get injured and they ask how it happened you'll just have to say "I fell down the stairs!

:-)

I`ve got a "dangerous activities" insurance, it`s part of being a member of the Dutch Alpin Council,
but only alpine, rockclimbing and skiing are covert
So it makes no sense, it seems to me that alpine climbing is more dangerous than take a nice track with your MTB. :thumbdn:
