WOOO-HOOO!!! I have to post this since I'm so proud of the accomplishment! I have always thought a Century was a major milestone for recreational cyclists and that it required serious devotion to achieve it. Well, today I did my 1st one. I've done 2 metric Centurys in the past month (67 miles) and I thought this morning why not try to get a 100 miler under my belt. I did it solo, so no drafting was involved. I feel pretty good and I'm going to do 50+ miles with my buddy tomorrow.

Here's the Sigma pic... You know I had to take a pic of it!!!

Congrats! Sounds like you spent some time training for your accomplishment. You should be proud!

What type of terrain? How did you do rest stops?

approx. 6 hours riding time

Started at 8:30am today, was done at 2:40pm

I took 2 breaks. 1 at around 40 miles, the other at around 80 miles

The terrian has slow rising hills and flats of course. What got me pumped up for it was 5 laps around Stone Mountain yesterday. That has nice hills and the weather was perfect.

I bought my bike May 22nd of this year. I have 2300 miles on it and 900 on my MTB since the same time. I try to ride as much as possible. I have a riding buddy now so I hope to peel of more long rides before the end of the year.

PS My son was born in Creston, IA are you familiar with the town?
