do you think it was intentional. you'd think the title would give it away. or at least the imitation of the hand gesture.

At this point I have no idea what's going on. Those pictures are too identical to be coincidental, but it I never would have guessed those drunks to be that organized :D

hahaha. they were spoofing the original picture.

God knows those drunks couldn't organize enough to get a bunch of internet bike nerds together from across the country.

And they certainly couldn't get sponsors.

Actually I was thinking about this weekend, and I'm thinking that there should be a lot more events like this. Sure, messengers are hardcore and *****, but there's also the whole lot of us with good paying jobs that spend way too much money on our bikes. It is probably a demographic that the bike companies should look into sponsoring more. I saw a lot of really tricked out bikes this weekend that belonged to civilians. And several companies went up in my esteem by their sponsorship...

Just sayin, you know?

S/F,
CEYA!

a small group of us went. the DC kids decided to leave butt-ass early in the AM. don't know what they did, though.

Around 11 myself, salome, rithem, msngr & fixednotbroken went. We had to use branches from pine trees to sweep up the track for the first 30 minutes. When we were done, it was as bad as it was when we started. it was SO freakin windy!!! It was way too windy to do pacelines or anything like that (when you came out of turn 4 hitting the wind was like hitting a "physical object" (i think msngr said that). We all did a quick flying 200, I almost threw up, and we left.

At least we went, though. Just being there felt nice. These guys were all troopers though for even going being willing to go out there. Nothing like a good 30mph wind to knock you around a bit.

eerily similar photos. Salome, the red and green combo....rock on!

chimblysweep
11-14-05, 08:18 AM
yup. we got to the track around 10am and played for a couple hours. indeed, resistance against the wind was futile. but we had a good time. nobody puked on anyone, no cash was exchanged, no punches were thrown.
