Just got a rpm 165 square taper crank. It didn't come with crank bolts. Can I just use any old crank bolt or are there different sizes, threads, etc? I was thinking of getting allen crank bolts (like these http://cgi.ebay.com/Allen-Crank-Bolts-For-Square-Taper-Bottom-Bracket-142G_W0QQitemZ7194684508QQcategoryZ56195QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) so I wouldn't have to buy another tool.

hmm, I think any old ones should work. for those you should go to a shop, they may have some they'd give you for free. who knows. but I wouldn't pay $8.00 for them by no means.

Thanks. Yeah, I was going to ask around to some bike friends to see if someone had extras before buying something but if I do have to buy something I would like the allen ones. $8 is cheaper then the $30 or whatever for a crank bolt puller.

yeah, the self pulling crank bolts are nice, but whatever. I mean how often do you need to pull your cranks, ya know?

those bolts you linked to aren't self extracting.
you'll still need a crank puller.
