I'm in the middle of a fixed gear conversion and it appears i'll be needing to change something because my chainline will be off (I didn't measure this in advance - agh). I'm going to be using a IRO hub which is stated as 42mm, but the chainwheel I want to use is the 52T one on the outside of the old crankset, which, as i measure is 50ish mm. The inner one (42T) is about 42mm.
Now seeing as I want to do this as cheaply as possible, what are my options for doing this? Right now I can think of:
1- switching my 19T cog for something equivalent on a 42T wheel and getting rid of the outer chainwheel somehow
and
2- replacing the spindle on my bottom bracket (i don't know how feasible this is, the things been on there probably 20 some odd years.) and using the outer chainwheel
Are there any other options? I want to do this as cheaply as possible, and I also want to be able to finally ride the thing.
