EZ-SportAX Curt

Yee Haw!!! Just got back from K&G bike center in Xenia, Ohio where I just bought my new EZ-Tadpole CX. When I took it out in the parking lot for a test ride I noticed a bad drag when I tried to pedle it, then I relized the parking brake was on DUHH. After I got the parking brake off WOW!!! this thing is going to take some time to get use to. At this moment they are putting on my fenders bike rack and Cateye cycle computer, they gave me a 15% discount on the parts, and they're going to mount everything for free. The total of everything came to $1705.00. Yes I know I could of gotten a Catrike or something better for that price, but the Tadpole was the only trike my 265 pounds can stoop down low enough to get onto it. I'll post a pic of it soon.

Thanks Magaman, I rode around the hood the other night for 11 miles and I didn't want to get off of it, now the weather here is just too cold, LOL.

I was at the lbs yesterday and they had SportAX out in front of the shop on display. I remember when they got this machine with it's sleek dick brakes a few months ago. I could tell it has had some test rides on it from the tire wear and the bb stem is scratched up some from changing it for diffrent riders :( . Because it is now past Christmas and it's still parked there, I asked about it. My fav. lbs mech/salesperson's eyes lite up at the prospect of selling the machine. He said it is a pain to have to fit the trike through the front door day in and day out :) and he would make me a reduced price offer because it is just not moving they way the owner had hoped. It already has a 1300 tag on it and I suspect because of the scratched paint on the bb stem and wear on the tires, I might be able to get it for about a grand! Yet for all purposes it's new to me. I know they will set it up properly for me and they have always given my machines great service, so I am being drawn away from my plans for a WizWheels. Another reason even though it is a heavier trike, I like the seat height, for me it is easier to get in and out of with my crumy back.
I was wondering how now that you have had for yours for a while you like it. Do you ride areas where there are hilly roads? When I get a trike I want to still be able to ride local events and some here have some respectable hills to climb :)
Look forward to anyones reports on road trips on the trikes.

Glad you like the ez tadpole. We bought one in August because of the hoot factor. What we have also discovered is the trike will easily and quickly adjust to a wide range of users. (We have to remind everyone to release the brake, one nameless rider road up a hill on a gravel road with the parking brakes set!) It is a good tool to introduce trike recumbency. Everyone who has tried it has really liked the experience. Sure, it is heavy and not likely to be our 1st pick for distance, trying to stay with a pack or touring but it is the only trike in its price range that can carry big people or little people.

LBS installed a rear rack and Sun bag. I added a sigma sport pickup (rear wheel, the 165 cm length kit is just barely long enough) so we can simply move the computers we owned. I wrapped the flag pole with reflective yellow tape and will add a yellow spinner of some type.
