So I ordered my Rush frame through Bike Station, but Mike couldn't get me any forks at the time. Someone in the track cycling forums suggested houseoftrack.com for forks, and I went and ordered one. A week later (!), I get a call from them saying that they only have red, even though their website lists black (!). They say they will order me a black one and give me a $20 credit. A couple of weeks and several emails later (!), I hear that a new shipment is due from Soma, and nobody has forks until then. I agree to wait.

Whenever I emailed the guy to check, I got these long and whining emails about how his bike shop is going to hell (sorry dude, but professionalism?...)

Anyway, I got the fork about two months later (today). It looks OK, tange tubing. Moderate rake. Took it down to trackstar with the frame for them to install my headset. Wasting time today, I look at Soma's on FGG. WAITAMINUTE! The forks on the website have almost no rake! My fork had rake! What gives?

Long story, short question: did Soma change their rake on the rush fork? Did I even get a rush fork? The frame is reynolds, but the fork is tange. Anybody know what gives here?

Thanks!

I don't have any comments on the fork but if you search for House of Track you'll find many stories of the same customer service. I think the owner even posted here for a while before having a meltdown or something.

Soma forks have a 28 mm rake, how much rake does your fork have?

House of Track is a horrible horrible shop. It took them 2 months to get me a set of nitto handlebars. I called them at least 15 times with no answer and once I did get to talk to someone, they claimed they sent them to me. Eventually, I got them out of the blue, after I had written the $45 off and just said "Screw it, don't deal with iffy shops just to save a few bucks." Bad customer service, even worse shop.

The one time I talked to the House of Track people on the phone I felt like I was in a Scharpling and Wurster (http://www.stereolaffs.com/) bit. Had he launched into a tirade about "batter buttled fare," I would not have been surprised.
