I like....

- fruit-salads, throw together oranges, peaches, bananas, pineapple, mango, etc.

- burritos: The Cantina in IV makes a killer veggie burrito with dirty-rice, sautéed broccoli, onions, mushroom, garlic and bell-peppers. Slattered with some quesadilla sauce, melted sharp-cheddar and fresh salsa.... yum....

- sushi of all kinds, my favorites are the sea-eels and spicy shrimp

- Vietnamese spring-rolls with peanut-sauce and pho

- grilled-cheese sandwiches, Croque Monsieur and Croque Madamme

- etc... I'll think of more when I get hungry... ;)

- LIQUOR! I tried out a Godfather, Godmother and Godchild last night. :)

Danno: Are you a vegetarian?

Anyway, here are mine:

- Grape Leaves (vegetarian) and hummous (preferably garlic and chive) in a pita
- Falafel
- Tofu and vegetables in clumpy white rice
- Spring rolls with plum sauce and hot mustard
- Wheat spaghetti with really thick, chunky sauce
- Burritos (beans, rice, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, tomato, onions, and potatoes if possible...the perfect food)
- Quizno's vegetarian on wheat bread with all the veggies, hot sauce, and no cheese

You arent by chance Korean are you?

DannoXYZ
11-16-05, 11:04 AM
Nah! Not Korean... There's a picture of me in the "Pictures of us" thread somewhere... I'll let you try and figure it out, although I'm not a mutt... although dogs are tasty... jk ;)

Danno: Are you a vegetarian?I'm close, I still eat seafood like fish and shrimp. The hormones and chemicals in beef and poultry just scares me, there's a reason US beef is banned in Europe and poultry banned in Asia even before the bird-flu. Although the levels of heavy-metal contamination of seafood is on the rise as well. But mainly, I just don't like killing animals. :(

Ok found a couple more dishes after almost starving to death last night (my greatest fear):

seafood ginger salad (I posted it in the Recipe Thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?p=1814507#post1814507))

lotus stem shrimp salad

mushroom cilantro soup

paella

desserts of all kinds, I've been making tapioca and coconut-milk desserts lately :)

bread pudding with bourbon
birchermuesli

Ah, good, good. Although fish are animals too, so there's no reason they should be a part of your diet if it's for animal suffering reasons. But to each his own. I'm vegan, for the animal rights reason and because of the environmental impact factory farming/commercial fishing/etc has. Keep it up!

Just reminded me.......nacatamales.

nacatamale = Nicaraguan tamale (best I've had)

I used to date (live with) a Nicaraguan girl....her father would bring Nacatamales up from Miami every 6 weeks or so. Man oh man.....best damn "tamale style" food EVER!

German, Mexican, Greek, Southern, Italian... all good.

but i will admit to a thing for breakfast foods - waffles, pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon, etc.

and i love cheese.

and beer. which isn't "food." but it's still a staple.

i make my own beer, btw. but not cheese. that wouldn't be pretty.

- Burritos... best is from Taqueria Arandas, Super California #9 with Linqua
- Barbacoa and or Linqua tacos
- BBQ crab (have that just about everytime I'm down at the beachhouse)

That's just my usual response for anyone who cites "god" as a reason to believe/not believe or do/not do something. Although, no, I don't believe in god, I wasn't trying to incite an argument or debate. I just think that's a hell of a cop-out reason for someone to hold a belief or etc.

Tonight I plan to take some of the last (spicy) peppers from my garden and stuff them with a mixture of onions, garlic, 2 kinds of cheese, a little ham, olive oil, and a sherry mixture. Then I'll grill them with either some Itialian sausage or venison.

I had some awesome loaded baked potato soup for lunch. I'm a soup fan. Especially with the cooler weather heading in...a nice steaming bowl of soup is just dandy. Brocolli Cheese and New England Clam Chowder are on the list of fav soups. Oh, and my husband makes an awesome chicken and wild rice soup that is knock your socks off awesome! Chili too...he's a chili master. None of this wimpy chili either...smokin! I make a decent Chicken Tortilla soup too.

I like something from almost all food traditions. I could do without Hagus and Mpawni worms. But I like Ground Nut stew, salmon and trout, good, real italian cheese and olive oil. I love garlic and basil. Not big on too much selentro. I love mexican. But dont like paying 15 bucks for a bean plate. Spinach Lassagna. I have 50 pounds of homegrown Blueberries in the freezer for pancakes and smoothies. I even like fried tofu cubes sauteed in garlic and tamari. I also love pesto. Have like 20 flat frozen bags of the delectable paste.

Just yipes...    You need to move down here to Texas. There are a couple of high price TexMex joints, but not even close to that. Of course we have Taqurias on just about every other corner here in Pasadena. Walk in with 5 bucks, and you can feed yourself for three days.
