How much does a FIT Pro frame weigh? my bike is really heavy and im trying to figure out how to lighten it. the only other thing i can think of is my cranks but there is now way they weigh 2 pounds more than others...they are like 50 oz...its not super light but i think my super light fork and bars should make up for it anyway what do I do to make it lighter without blowing a ton of money?

Good to see you kids are finally learning. And it's BMX, who cares about weight? Even on a race bike, if you weigh more than 130, it doesn't matter.

thanks but if you are a road biker,why are you talking to bmx bikers... do you even have a bmx bike?

weight doesmatter... you can bunnyhop alot higher with lighter weight. things as simple as changing you bar angle can give you up to like 5 inches more...

Wait...*I'm* the road biker!

The CF headset spacers are totally where it's at. You can also take the valve stem caps off your tubes and save some rolling weight there, because everybody knows rolling weight is more detrimental than static weight. You could also think about cutting the ends of your bars completely off and just wrapping the crossbar with Cinelli, I bet that would save a TON of weight. :D

No, Snazzy's the road biker. I have the tandem MTB, which is fairly obvious. It's titanium, and probably weighs less than your BMX. I also have 2 BMX bikes - one for racing, one for jumping. I've got other bikes too, but no road bikes. Unless you count a beach cruiser.

What, the IF? In the 16lb range, depending on the pro build kit. My bike is heavy, just under 20lbs. It should be in the high 18s once I build up my DT Swiss / Mavic wheels and put a couple bitties like Thomson seatpost and Ritchey stem on it. Might be able to nudge it down into the 17s if I go full Dura-Ace, but that's a lotta sponduli, even with my shop discount. ^^;

I'm sure you've already installed the CF headset spacers. Two of them are twice as light as one.

Blasphemer! CF or titanium, aluminum is old school.

Especially since the CF ones come in an array of different colored weave now, which, thanks to undeniable good looks, may be even lighter than standard black ones! I can't wait to try some out! :D

Weight has never ever been an issue with me on any of my bikes. My specialized now weighs like 45 lbs and its my dirtjumping bike, it's goin to way more when I get new bars and some other crap.

hoonstreet3

for bunnyhopping it does. you can get like 3-4 more inches with like a 24 lb. bike vs. a 32 lb. bike. thats the difference between jumping onto a rail and not jumping on to one... its not as big of aa deal for dirt jumps as for street bmx stuff...

I ride some street to with that bike and have no problems what so ever with its weight.

It's been so long since you got a public beatdown, at least a day. :) How can your beloved Specialized weigh 15lbs more than my stock Backtrail X3?

You are so full of it. The Vegas TR-X complete didn't weigh nearly that much when it was available on the market, and with the list of parts that you listed in this post (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?p=1715493#post1715493) (quoted below), I can't see how you could possibly have that bike tipping the scales at 45lbs. 35lbs seems a much more likely number.
