Road Bike Racing - coach in so-cal

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i plan to start racing in 2006. i'm 33... been riding for 20 years. (i know, late start... better late than never, though) i live in southern california and was wondering if any of you could at least point me in the direction of someone to help add some structure to my 10-13 hours/week on the bike. i'm in the san dimas/claremont area.
thanks!
I live in San Dimas and my coach lives in Claremont. My wife manges Bud's bike shop in Claremont. Send me a private message with your e-mail so that I can forward your information to a couple of coaches in our area. If they are interested they will contact you and let you know prices. That is easier for me than publishing their information here.
Sure. Go to www.bicyclecoach.com. All of the licensed coaches that want the extra exposure (translation= we pay money so we get more exposure) register with that website. It's a great website- Joe Friel is good friends with the woman who runs that website, and he definitely had a lot of faith in the website.

The coaches that I will put you in contact with are licensed coaches and live in our area (translation = they are easy for you to get a hold of and are available to spend one on one time with you). You mentioned where you were from so I figured that contact was important to you. Sometimes it is necessary to have more than a phone and e-mail relationship with your coach.
Ummmm... the coaches on bicyclecoach.com are real live coaches that LIVE and TRAIN in your area- and they are one on one coaches. I don't know why you assume that the coaches on bicyclecoach.com are email coaches.
It's always good to have choices and variety. bicyclecoach.com is simply a coach locator of licensed coaches that live in different areas of the country. There's no bias or preference as to which coach is the best coach. You simply contact the coaches that registered with the website, give them a call, and make arrangements to meet up with them.

thanks you two...
I didn't make any assumptions and I never said anything about bicyclecoach.com. I will make the assumption that you weren't stating that the coaches I may put 60cycle in contact with might be unlicensed or unwilling to pay for extra exposure.

Here's a link to the socalcycling website that lists a few coaches for the S. Cal area. Rick Babbington (a CTS coach) is very good and does a good job getting results for his clients. If you have any questions let me know
