Lately I've found myself listening to some of the old school jams I used to love when I was pretty young (I'm talking 10 or 11, I'm only 31 now), and have rediscovered a place for them in my heart. Here's the short list:
1) Mission Of Burma - A Gun to the Head (a newer best of comp, and probably my most listened to album of late)
2) Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime (As a bass player, this album makes me realize just how much more i should practice)
3) Gang of Four - Entertainment
4) Buzzcocks - Singles going Steady (so fun to sing along to)
5) Misfits - Static Age (see #4, especially the ohhh-ohhh!'s)
I'm sure this will probably pass and I'll pick up the Wolf Parades' and Bloc Partys' again, but for now traveling back in time is pretty nice. Anyone else been bitten by the musical-sentimentality bug of late, and if so, whatcha been listening to?
