Touring - christmas tour - a ride, or ride partners, sought

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I do find that with all this talk of touring, very few people actually ever seem to invite anyone along to their rides. So I'm going to...
Me and a friend are planning to do a ride somewhere not too cold over x-mas. Somewhere near or in Southern Europe, Morocco, Turkey or that kinda thing. 50-60 miles a day for 7-10 days.
If you're interested, or are doing a tour and want a friendly ride partner or two, then let me know.
Cheers
I've been thinking about a Christmas tour as well, I'm a teacher so I do have two weeks off...very tempting to head to Europe. What were you thinking about doing in southern Europe? thanks for getting me thinking. Zach.

hey zach
we're thinking of going to either spain - from barcelona down maybe to malaga or thereabouts; or to turkey, from istanbul down the west (med) coast. turkey wld be hotter but more adventurous/risky (maybe more dangerous - I've no idea). spain cld be bad weather if we're unlucky...I watched Lost in La Mancha (a film abt the making of a film) the other week, and all their equipment got washed away by a downpour....
we're not teachers tho I'm afraid, so it'd only be a week to 10 days max (I wanna be a teacher)

Hi Al
Teaching has some real good parts, like all the time off, but the kids will drive you crazy. I teach in an inner-city high school north of Boston, Massachusetts and it can be crazy at times...but I ride every day, so it's worth it.
Any Southern Europe trip sounds great, but looking at my finances I might be best served by saving up for my two months of summer bike touring...damn teachers get all the time off.
But, we shall see. Please keep me up to date on your plans. Hope all is well across the Pond.
Zach.
