Hi; From time to time Specialized has posted chapters from the Barnett repair manual. Does anyone have the chapter dealing with drivetrain maintenance/repair they would be willing to share with me? I need to do a better job of maintaining my commuting bike, especially during the long winter months. Thanks.

Do a search and someone just asked this. A site was given with over 30 chapters. :)

Unfortunately, the chapters at this site have been moved (or removed).

Hrmmmm...the page:

Moved to http://www.d.umn.edu/~bjer0078/bike/manual/index.htm

references files stored on geocities and these pages are not found.

Please read the statements preceding the download area.... specifically, "To download you need to right clink on the link, and choose save target as: otherwise you will get a page that says the file is not available."

So....has anyone come up with the missing 3* chapters as was previously asked?

Back on to the subject that started this post. Another suggestion would be to goto your LBS and have them show you a few things. There isn't anything better then hands on.

Ba-Dg-Er,
thanks for the new page address. I went to the old one last week and found out that it had been moved.

What gives with this link. It works not for me. I do exactly what it says and right click on the link, then save target as..., and it creates a 2k file called blockpage.htm which when I click on the that in my c:\temp, does nothing useful at all.

They work okay for me except File Four. I get a "requested site is unavailable or cannot be found" error.

I did eventually manage to get files 1 and 2. File 3 is always empty, and pkzip says it is buggered. I get the same response as you got for file 4.

I emailed Mr.Anonymous using the email address given on the site, but I doubt that I will get a reply. I'm pretty sure, that if he/she knows there are download problems, he/she would suggest other ways or other places to get the stuff from.

Cynical perhaps.

Attention everyone....

Berrt took the time to email the missing files to me.

It's little things like that make the forums an even better place to hang out.

Thanks berrt, and everyone else who makes the forums what they are.

Sorry to hear that so many of you have had problems with the downloads....

I was able to get them without a problem, but perhaps since it's hosted on Geocities the server is just too busy to allow the downloads.

Anyway, I threw the files up on my server, and you can find them there by going to:
http://personal.riverusers.com/~bjg5/Barnett's/

If you have any trouble with it, PM me, but it should work fine.

Ba-Dg-Er: Do your zip files include chapter 36?

Bokkie

Not yet. FAIK, chapter 36 is the last one to be posted, sometime in the next few weeks if the one a month pattern holds true.
