I ride my mountain bike quit a bit and I think i want to get a road bike. I was at a LBS and the guy told me about Oryx bikes. The model I am looking at is the 2100($999 CDN) or the 2200($1599 CDN). With the 2200 he said he would give me a deal on it. So my questions are

A) are the components good for and entry level Road bike.

B) How do you size a Road bike. I ride a 17.5 MTB. That seems way too small for a road bike.

C)and last of all is the Price right.

I am still in the very basic stage of looking.

What other options should i be considering.

they can be found under the racing series link.

The 2100 looks like a good entry level bike with ok components (Tiagra).
The 2200 has much better components (105).

For sizing information go to www.wrenchscience.com and click on "road". On the next page that opens click on "help size me" and answer all the questions.

FYI: The LBS should size you to make sure the bike fits.

I am in the same boat! I am riding a Trek Hybrid 7500 and am looking for my first road bike. I've been looking at the Trek 2200... how does this compare? I know that the Trek costs $1,400 at my local shop... how much for the Oryx?

The prices for both bikes sound very good. I would recommend the 2200 because it has Shimano 105; the Tiagra components on the 2100 are good enough but the 105 components are better and are considered entry level for racing. And, the 2200 has a carbon fork, as opposed to the 2100 which has an aluminum fork; the CF fork will help to smooth the ride on an aluminum bike.
