In many states, children under 18 or 16 years of age are required to wear helmets. To their credit, most parents like the idea of their progeny wearing helmets. How can the resistance of teenagers and middle-schoolers to helmet use be overcome? Helmet graphics! Market to these age groups helmets with graphics, pictures or language that their parents will forbid them from wearing. Anything that works is fair game; sex, Satanism, militarism, machismo, the names and pictures of rock musicians that Mom and Dad can't stand. If it provokes an adult reaction of "You're not leaving the house wearing that," it will probably overcome adolescent helmet resistance. Let's chew on this, maybe someone from Bell Sports will pick up on it!

Why not just forbid them to ear a helmet? That should work. they'll hide it outside the house and sneak it on as they leave the property.

Isn't it great the way that as kids are growing up, they will do anything to make you happy. But one day they just decide that doing the opposite will make them happy....

Gotta love 'em! :D

Well down here, helmets are mandatory in every state regardless of the cyclist's age. Virtually every kid I see wears a helmet. The BMX'ers wear a helmet that resembles the type worn by German soldiers in WWII, they are legal and meet the normal safety requirements. The MTBers wear full face helmets. The kids think they are very cool. The only people that b!tch about them here are adults.

CHEERS.

You must be kidding. Most kids I see just tie their helmet to their handlebars rather than wearing it! We've got some thinkers here in QLD!
