LOL. Guess Aero levers were even too heavy to use - that extra return helper spring and all. I bet the shifting is friction too!

Why don't they just cut the main tubes off the frame entirely?

Or better yet, just mount a handlebar, a pair of pedals and a saddle anywhere in the air. Weighs a whole lot less, and can be adjusted in infinite combinations for any rider.

Drat! Just proves there is no new ideas out there. Was going to do something like that to my Merlin, with non aero levers, funky old derailers, cranks and downtube shifters, just to freak out the Ti poseur' crowd...

That looks like a Huret Jubilee rear derailleur... and Mafac levers?

This thing tempts me to pull out the drill press to a few Weinmann levers, some jockey wheels and a cheap Raleigh-badged crankset. Might as well paint the levers black and gold too, while I'm at it.

All I'd have to do then is find a cheap bike-boom frame that looks the part, put the components on, and wheel it into the LBS to see how long it takes the folks there to realize what it is...

EDIT: Almost forgot - I better hunt down some pedal axles...
