"my car got stolen today and in the trunk was my friend's vintage bike frame. it was parked right by my house, on steiner between haight and page. it was stolen during broad day light sometime between noon and 1:30pm ish.
i just filed a cop report but most likely ****ers took my car for joy ride - could you please keep an eye for these things?
my car: 91 toyota camry, 4 doors, gold. it's really a ****ed-up car i have no idea why they'd want to steal it.
bike frame: check this craigslist posting out.
i'm more bummed about the frame than anything else. i really really don't care about the car. so if you see craigslist posting or see it being sold on ebay or anything, please please please please please let me know.
yes there will be a reward."
tell the dude to spend 15.99 for the generic club
Any chance it was towed? Police report?
Sorry to hear it.

wild lug work on that frame. Good luck on finding it and the car.
That particular year of camry is on the top 10 most stolen cars list, almost every year for the last ten years. Part of the reason, is keying (lots of similar keys), interchangeable parts, and the sheer simplicty of breaking into this model. Google top 10 most stolen cars.
I will keep my eye out!

when i go to work tonight i'll ask a few cats on the block that are always dropping in and asking me if i want to buy stuff whatsup, as i have been working in that area for the past few years. drop by nickies tonight, 460 haight i'll be at the front door- i'll buy you a couple beers or punch you in the face if you did in fact drop the N' word :D but either way i'll ask around...

I think if he dropped the N-bomb the whole word would be deleted, not just the first four letters.

that was a direct quote of her myspace message and it said fu<kers originally. i'd punch my own face in for dropping the n-bomb. i didn't even think about that or pay attention when pasting it in here.
i don't actually live in the area, just know this girl from a newstoday.com forum and posted it over here since it involved the frame, otherwise i'd be out drinking beers for sure.

she asked me to add this:
"hoping that those who stole my car have not opened the trunk yet, my license plate is CA 2VPV102 just to give my car more description.
no it was not towed - we called police and towing numbers and they didn't have any record of it.
so far no word from police - nothing on craigslist or ebay, and i'm getting more and more worried about the frame.
if you live in SF and hear/see anything about it, please email me at yuko@sikanna.com.
my big thanks to everyone."

i actually got into a bit of a jam last night, and ended up having to drag some a/hole out of the club, kind of put me into a bad space, and once the police responded this just added to my s*itty night, although i did get to take out a little, er stress on this fool, i wasn't able to remember to check around as i said i would-

Whoa. There's a flipside to the ultra-mellow nice guy I've seen?
Oh man, I would not want to be on the flip-side of the Kendal coin.
Dude, thanks for taking me to breakfast the other day Kendal, please don't ever get mad at me :)

not to worry as i am in 100% complete control, always i have to be, but this involved someone puking right outside the doorway to nickies at all of 9:30p, it was way too early to be cleaning up someones puke, not to mention having said puker sneak inside while i was cleaning up after his a$$, all in all an overall lesson was learned by this guy, and many regulars will probably will never look at me quite the same again... one of the whole reasons why i don't do that kind of thing too much, once the little green guy is out, he takes full advantage of being released-
the fat lady is freaking awesome, one of the better breakfast spots in the bay area. :( on a sad note dave, my favorite there- last day was friday, which was why he was not there, really going to miss him, but he's moving to go and take care of his aging parents, what a hell of a guy-
Beautiful set of lugs. Shame if this doesn't get recovered.

Just to let everyone know the car was found last weekend and the frame was still in the trunk. Its in my room now and I've started building it, and I'm having fun with it.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this thread and for keeping your eyes open.

The cops found the car a few blocks away from where it was stolen (a week later). The front tire is kinda messed up and the ignition is messed up from having a screwdriver jammed in it but other than that its fine. Nothing my friends insurance won't cover.
This frame means just that much more to me now, it was originaly my present to myself for snapping my forearm in two 3 months ago, and the day it got stolen was actually my birthday (ohh my tales of woe :P). So when I got it back I was deffinately on cloud 9!
