Foo - Troll Hall of Fame

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Rules are:
One individual troll per post, with a short description of how their trolling has touched your life. Try not to lose your mind in a pathetic flamewar. Here goes-
Spuds McDoogle (http://www.bikeforums.net/search.php?searchid=1785695) This cat was absolutely amazing. He transformed the always mellow and laid back 'bent forum into a den of rabid scorpions, just by being mellow and laid back. His stories about walking up hills and PBJs almost made me choke on my tongue from laughter more than once. Wherever you are, Spuds, I salute you.
Oh boy here we go...
From the first chapter of my book...
A certain troll from this forum (jit2/ewitz) came onto another forum and sent a pm... I bet the guys over at bikeforums will love this (with some references to tucking). He posted some thread I never saw here go banned. After initial great fear I finally relized that some people know about me and what I am going through. I made the decision to come out to everyone. The support has been amazing and finally made me accept who I truly am inside!
So in that respect his trolling was a good thing... but if he does it again I will have to open a can of...

The classic. Every question was about what the best, most expensive component would do for his riding (assuming that he rode in the first place). Brought out the best flaming from everyone.
I miss him/her.
TrekRider, his loquatious yet circular ramblings armed with ill researched, factual mis-information almost made a neo-con out of me <yeah right>

I remember a guy from India who didn't realize this wasn't a motorbike forum. He wanted our opinion on which bike was sexier and would get him the girls better'er (his English was exactly stellar). He said that he wasn't worried about performance or even because he liked the idea of motorcycling, he just wanted to know which would get him the chicks better. It's a good thing he wasn't worried about performance. He was looking at a miniature Harley clone and a fake sport bike, both with like 150 cc engines. I think he only ever got two posts in. His original, and his question why everyone was making fun of him. Not an intentional troll, but not too bright either. I think he was a positive influence on my life, because I got a good laugh out of the most genuine posuer I'd ever seen.
Aha! Found it (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=103775&highlight=sexier)
Supertrooper - That guy would rant and rant, and get him started on politics and he'd go totally berserk. He finally went totaly bat$hit crazy, I think Joe must have aced him to the trash can.
dobber. he seems to have a rubber strip fetish. i don't even want to know what he does with them in his free time.
A.troll, boyfriend!
Just an unusually sweet, if a tad off the wall, persona.

53-11 alltheway. Not sure if he actually counts as a troll or not, but definitely an instant personality, and the ability to make some people foam at the mouth.

MERTON....his inane banter and weird posts make even the village idiot look like the one who got the brains in the family. If ever there was somebody who discovered the art of posting in the form of thinking out loud, this is the guy who mastered it!

Heh, only so far this thread could go :rolleyes:You'd be surprised, this thread hasn't even scratched the surface. When I started coming to bikeforums, (before I forgot the password to my old username,)D*Alex (http://www.bikeforums.net/search.php?searchid=1787061) was the troll to be reckoned with. He was good, too, just a tad too abusive to newbs, I guess. ;)

Um.......yeah, it does!!
But then again.....I was called a troll when I first started too. I started a thread in the general forum about "why do all bike shoes look so gay" and was immediately labelled as a gay bashing troll.

Ankush.....I think he knows way more than he puts off that he does. I love his rambling panicky posts, and at the end, he usually solves it himself. Something about him is very charming. He puts a smile on my face. And I love his bike.
Eubi, and his pedantic ramblings. I wish he would shut up.
Oooo I have a bunch, but I don't have time to think about it! (They make my head hurt!)

I notice your link is invalid.
D*Alex was the BEST, IMHO. He did not tolerate fools easily. But probably not a troll, as I don't believe he did his bit on purpose. Just his natural personality shining through.
I am sorry he got banned, but I know he was offered a reinstatement.
"Troll is in the eye of the beholder."
You can use that line if you like, just be sure to give me full credit.
Back to this thead:
When I've tried to troll I get ignored.
When I post what I think is a good point, I get lit up like Christmas tree!

He would be my pick. Kept me busy for two weeks trying to keep up to his ip's, logins etc. The worst (or best) part was the kid was smart and really knew some interesting facts. He just couldn't NOT insult people that were less intelligent.
D*Alex I have heard the stories. I remember him posting, but I don't remember paying much attention when I was just posting :)

no, your post was not trolling. I was referring to i-like-to-bike
berderline trolling is somebody going somewhere, as you say and trolling. He would be a troll if he did this everywhere he went on the forum. Since i have never seen him I do not know whether he does that, so I attributed the term borderline troll to his behavior as described there and not to him.
