There's some sort of bracket near the brake rotors that looks like it 'could' be used for a fender. Does anyone know if they're availible for the ABT?

I'd like to know this too...

I asked Randy what fenders to use on this trike, before I'd buy.

He never got back to me on it (and a number of other questions), so I never bought. I can only assume that there are none that will accomodate the bike, but it could just be that he's not interested in high maintenance customers who ask difficult questions.

Phew! Thank goodness!

That's unfortunate, I read so many posts about people not getting responses to their questions to Randy. In fact, I've sent a few questions myself that never got responses. Ha, maybe he has his spam filter set too high, I dunno.

Are you reading these posts, Randy? You're losing customers, here! It would be prudent to shape up now, before it's too late and you've done irreparable damage to your company's name...

What? It's true... When you are a sole proprietor, as Randy is, you alone are responsible for the success of your company. Randy seems to be dropping the ball more than the Toronto Raptors these days, and you can clearly see the effect it's having on these and other forums.

By your response Redrom, I suspect it may already be too late for him...

I asked about the fenders myself and he replied that he was sure there were some that would work out there....

I've gotten a couple of responses, but never answers to all of my questions or just half-answers. I visited one of the dealers listed on the AB website to try one out, but he didn't have any in yet (over six weeks past promised delivery) and Randy wasn't answering his e-mails or phone calls. Pretty poor way to do business.

I finally bought one...not because of the customer service, but in spite of it...as an experiment. It is supposed to be here tomorrow. I'm hoping I don't regret it.

No worries nakota, rest assured that you'll get as much support as you need from these forums, from assembly help to riding technique. :)

Not that we aren't interested, (because I'm sure a bunch of us are,) but you might find more knowledgeable help on the Actionbent group at YahooGroups.

Remember guys, Randy is a distributor, not a retailer. His degree of involvement is to import the bikes, drop-ship them, and deal with (warranty) problems, nothing more. AB owners forgo the support to get the nice low prices.

His degree of involvement is his own choice. He may not be a distributor, but he plays one on the internet. You think the guy who was just told by his Dr. to start riding a bike, distinguishes that when he buys from Randy on eBay or the AB website?

Besides, there are plenty of distributors who get involved with their product, especially if they know they are selling to the end user. Putting this info out there can help fellow BF'ers make a knowledgeable choice in deciding whether or not to purchase from him. I'm glad I did the research, and glad I witheld the purchase.

The Tadpole has landed.

It got here yesterday (super-fast shipping, good condition, everything intact). Full assembly time was about six hours (probably could do it in half that, now that I've figured out how to adjust a derailleur and work a chain tool).

First impressions:
- I'm out of shape.
- Quality seems good.
- I stayed up too late last night watching Madagascar and putting this trike together.
- AB Tadpole is not as quick on the take off as the Greenspeed GTS, nor does it turn as tight, though it is very responsive, and feels good once it's rolling.
- Didn't like the chain tool, but I don't know if that's quality or just me. I ruined two links learning how to use it.
- I need a nap...right after the turkey.

More later.

The chain tool you get with the ABT sucks (IMO). I ended up buying a better one from my LBS for about fifteen bucks.

I hear yah on being out of shape. :p
