Tonight I rode my 32.2 mile ugly ride. I hate that ride. It's hard and makes me hurt.
It has no big climbs, but rather, a hundred - so it seems - 100 ft. rollers at about 9% grade (no kidding). Some I can carry speed up and over, but others require the little ring and a short, grinding battle. There's no rhythm to the ride, just constant shifting between chainrings. 12 mph then 30mph, then 11 mph then 27 mph. Forced intervals. Yeah, that's it.
I complain while I'm riding it, and I complain after I'm done, but I still ride it once or twice a month.
Does anyone else submit to such torture voluntarily?
