A press release from the organizers says the SF GP will not be held due to financial concerns. Complicating factor is nonpayment of funds to the city for services in 2005. RIP SF GP

The fans and business will suffer...Im pissed, me and my girlfriend were looking forward to going again. We spend a lot of money while we are there, sorry SF, not this year...

Sorry Khan. I had read that thread yesterday and knew it was about the trouble resulting from previous years financing. I did not realize that it had morphed into a discussion about the cancellation for this year. In any case it was kind of a no blood no foul thing :D .

This is a sad day for cycling in the Bay Area. Even if San Jose can convince them to move it to San Jose, it just won't be the same. Maybe if we attact them to hold the race through Portola Valley, up Joakim? Another one may be up King's Mountain, then up Swett? Need to see those world class athletes suffer up those ungodly vertical hill climbs!!!!
