I am excited.

On Friday I worked a day in the service department at my current LBS of choice. It was great! I didn't know my way around the shop, I needed a good bit of guidance, and I cut my hand on a chainring, but it was pretty sweet.

So if things go well I might be working there, flip flopping between sales and service. This is pretty awesome. Of course, I've been to college, and it would be sweet to have a nice salaried job or something, but hey, I love bikes. Besides, my current boss at my retail and photofinishing job is really grating on me.

I thought I'd share.

By the way, this is fixed gear related because lots of the guys there are fixed enthusiasts, and they have a weekly fixed gear ride, which is how I met them and ended up working there in the first place.

Which shop in 757 is good for fixed gear stuff? The few shops I've been to (I mostly stay in Richmond) seemed pretty dedicated to geared bikes.

The one I'm talking about is Conte's on Laskin Road. It's huge, and just about everything in there is geared, but ask anyone about fixed gear bikes and they'll help you out. They usually stock Langsters.

You would think with all the fixed gears in Richmond there'd be somewhere to go for the stuff.

EDIT: I just realized that probably sounds like Langster = fixed gear friendly. That's not what I mean. That's what they carry, but most people I've met there are trackophiles.

Ahhh...I mean Rowletts is fairly cool for fixed gear stuff but when I'm not in school I spend my time in Hampton.
