full njs, (minus the rims, spokes and tires).
i'm not going to rhapsodize about the ride; suffice it to say it was very very good (and a friend saw me on the street and made me go drink wine with him. it was rough).

Mr. Dolface, what post and seat do you have on that bike? The straps are NJS?
Very suh-weet. Back in the saddle.
Interesting color scheme going there - I dig it.

Put some orange grips on your Silk monkey...and stop wine-in'. NJS hot to death. Now you gotta chase the derny for maximum hotness.

Very nice, G. And the dark woods background is making my imagination run wild :D .
Maybe we can deconstruct that photo with some of those books on the book list thread. Wasn't one "Man and His Symbols".
1) Full NJS bike (this can be broken down into its constituent components as well, esp. those DA 7600)
2) A fence.
3) A bottle of wine.
4) The dark woods.
Discuss.

My NJS shiz beat all your friends' taiwanese junk on Saturday. Don't even give me that crap about bonus points, I came, I saw, I arrived to the finish first. BAM!
Thanks for setting up the race though man, it was good times.
All crap-talking aside, I'm glad the peloton is back Galen. That thing is so nice. Congrats, again...

Aside from Asthetic/Fetish purposes: what makes NJS more desirable for street use? I notice that Campy doesn't "do" NJS at all, and have read they have no desire to.

thanks everyone, for the comments.
it's great to have the bike back the way it was (and it turns out that the saddle isn't really that uncomfortable).

No.
Truth be told, I didn't think I was really supposed to tell people about the race, having been told about it only the night before by the person who set it up.
We'll race on Friday though :)

Ok, I'll try to hold until then. Let's play it by ear like last weekend, call me around 11 or 11:30 and let me know what's up...

pretty much, and in my case, a bit of an obsession .
that's not to say that njs stuff isn't supremely tough and functional, but it's not designed for the street.

Well, in that context, perhaps I don't understand the NJS stuff enough to say I understand an some what unreasonable love. It's because "you like it".
Would NJS have an superiority over basic street focused Fix brands, such as Surly, etc?

i don't think it makes a difference for parts without bearings. njs requires loose-ball bearings, so street-focused stuff that uses cart. bearings is going to require less maintanence
