Not sure if anybody knows any more about this, and the story doesn't say it was random but if it was, yikes. Maybe getting hit by the occasional cigg butt or egg ain't so bad.

Kansas City police today are searching for clues into the shooting death of a bicyclist found dead Sunday morning alongside a Kansas City roadway.
Robert Osborn, 43, had left his job at an Independence grocery just before the shooting. A co-worker and an off-duty paramedic spotted Osborne lying next to his bike in the 12200 block of E. 47th St. The paramedic unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate Osborn, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they had few clues. Police think Osborn was shot between 5:30 and just before 6 Sunday morning. The co-worker, who also left the grocery that morning, took the same route home and found his fallen peer.
?There were two or three people that came upon him in a relatively short time,? Sgt. Dave Bernard said.
The shooting was Kansas City?s 114th homicide this year.
