I've been bombarding this forum with questions about my soon-to-be all-rounder/light tourer, and here's yet another one. I live in Long Island, NY near Bethpage State Park. There's all sorts of nice light MTB trails and fire roads in the park, so I'm looking for tires that behave well on-road, with a decent amount of off-road use. The Schwalbe Marathon XRs seem to be a possible choice. They look like they probably have more rolling resistance than Conti TT2Ks or Panaracer Pasellas, but the question is - how much more resistance? is it very noticable? Also, how well do they handle wet roads - especially when cornering on downhills? I guess the wet road/cornering handling is more of a concern than the rolling resistance.
