I was just wondering if the thule clip on series for rear door mounting can be used on a sedan or can they only be mounted on a hatch?

Clip on series? You mean the trunk mount with the metal adjustable arms? If thats what you're talking about, they work on most anything.

i have a thule rack. i have it on my land cruiser. i took into the koziosko national park the other day to do some downhill round there. the tracks around the area are are kinda sketchy and whenever you drive over a large bump, hump etc the clip on the bottom flips out therefore realeasing the rack from the car. the first time it happened my bike went flying off the back of the car. not good...
