My girlfriend likes for me to come along with her when she runs errands or we go to dinner. Doesn't bother me much cause she enjoys my company and I'm on the way. Most of my friends just realize that I'd rather ride and don't really get it so they don't have a foot to stand on if they try to argue me into riding in a car.

That's damn funny that your friend is car-free though. It really doesn't sound like it.

I'm guessing you have some stairs in your house.

Carpooling is leaps and bounds beyond what the general public does. You don't have to eliminate cars COMPLETELY from your life, to be "car free" in my book. Besides, adding your extra 150 pounds in the vehicle would have reduced gas consumption by less than 1 mpg.

I would have gone along...where's your sense of camaderie with "cager" friends? ;)

i don't ride with people most of the time. if it's a long distance early in the morning, i'll take it, you know? if i have a flat, i'll take it. if i figure my friend isn't going to ride a bike and we should talk, i'll do it. most of the time, i'd rather do the same thing. it's funner to ride a bike anyway. i don't care if "funner" isn't a word.

I ended up riding in the car because it was night, 0 degrees c, I didnt know how to get there, and I was "on the way." I was only being half serious in the aim log, but I have had other times where friends or my mom will try to get me to ride with them when I wanna bike.
