I was just wondering if the new hardrock models were good for dirt jumping...?

I looked at the frame and looked pretty sturdy
just need an opinion from ya guys...

Well, the hardrocks aren't exactly designed for dirt jumping. They'll hold up to a good bit, but it might be best to get a freeride bike to begin with.

Something like a Specialized P series, Giant STP series, Kona Cowan/Stuff/Shred/Scrap, Cannondale Chase series.

they'll probably do if you aren't obese. no guarantees, and they're more likely to break than a designed-for-dj bike, not to mention the geometry's more for trail riding, but for 99% of their riders they will do just fine. i've borrowed a friend's hardrock to go jumping with, and it served its purpose. I was the one that didn't hold up (mild concussion...i'm an idiot)

though that may be true, that isn't to say that a hardrock can't take a BIG hit over and over again. because it can. watch thevishfiles and you'll know what i mean.

Yeah, he really does put it through hell, and sometimes Vish is a bit of a hack. ;)

and just so you know, even to this day he still has that frame (he doesn't ride it anymore though, because recently he got a demo) and its still in rideable condition.

Yeah, my friend has a hard rock. There is a few things that I would change, but I think its a really smooth bike to dirt jump with.
