Winter Cycling - great winter clothing deals at target

Just thought I would let everyone know that I found some excellent deals on gear for winter cycling at target. If you go to the Men's section with all the athletic stuff, champion makes some cheap poly thermal underwear that make a great base layer (12$). In my area they also had some great stretch-poly pullovers that are brushed on the inside for extra warmth (16.99$). The best deal I found was on a great wind breaker for the final outside layer that was 19$ and best of all, soft-shells with nylon front and polr fleece lined inside that zips half way down. I ended spending about 140$ and have enough to have about 2-3 full outfits (minus thermal tights that I will wear and all the little cycling specific gear...ie shoe covers, lobster gloves, etc). I have no affiliation or anything, just wanted people to know to check it out. If you are a broke college student (like me) or just dont see the sense in spending more when you can get the same quality for less (like me) then go check it out.

I found lots of good cycling apparel at Target. That Champion brand is called "C9". I have the windbreaker, some poly long and short sleeve shirts, and some wind pants. The "C9" line is also available on line at Target.com.

Does your windbreaker have a detachable hood? The one I got from Target does. Works great over the balaclava, under the helmet. It doesn't restrict movement either.

Drug the wife to Target yesterday - It was all you said it would be. Nice inexpensive stuff. Hopefully it will stand up to the cold!

I've been using target stuff for a few years now in conjuction with cycling specific stuff. Target sells some nice cheap socks that I use for cycling, not winter specific but I like to use them underneath a heavier smartwool sock.

The women's section has great summer and winter breathable tops and pants.

Wally-World has similar items under the Starter label. The UnderArmour ColdGear knockoffs are a good value.

Poseurs boycott

I went to our local Target today. Could not find most of the things mentioned here, but did find what looks like some warm long underwear. I'm hoping they will work well as insulating layers. They were certainly priced right: $4.99 for tops and $5.49 for bottoms.

I will say that I have only had luck finding this gear at Super Targets or newer Targets that are well-stocked. I have been to some other Targets that do not offer this selection of clothing for men.

I got a full zip merino wool sweater that is the absolute berries as a warm layer, between my wicking tee and my wind shell.

30 bucks, as opposed to ANY merino jersey, at 65 bones, and up...

Sent My Beloved Redhead off to get me another one, too, I did.
