I have a little crash story to tell that occurred on Saturday's ride. I wish I could say that it happened while doing some crazy stunt or on a real technical part of the trail. Oh no...this happened going back to the car. In fact, I was only 200 feet away from it when it occurred.
The trail that leads back to the main parking lot is narrow with a wood ranch style fence to the side. I was going back to the car on this trail, which crosses a paved road, then dips back down to the trail once again. When you cross the paved road there is a small drop back down to the dirt trail. Well, I crossed the pavement and decided to jump the small drop. This is something I've done many times before. This time it didn't go so smoothly. I landed sideways and my bike shot to the left right into the fence. I hit the fence and flipped over it with my bike. As I'm flipping over I grab onto the top of the fence to keep from falling about 10 feet down into some thorn bushes. My bikes lands at the bottom of the ditch so I have to crawl down in between the bushes to retrieve it. Luckily, the only thing badly injured was my Ego.
I really need to learn some bike handling skills.
