General Cycling Discussion - Ping...Joe Gardner.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Joe,
maybe OT in this group, but here goes. Would you consider opening a new explorer window when we reply to threads? Reason I ask, is that if I want to quote, I can't always (depending on how the original text is presented) actually copy the full content I'd like to use. I often open another explorer and copy-and-paste between the two. It's no big deal for me to do that, but is it worth exploring as an enhancement? Excuse the pun.:)

G'morning,
Have you tried right-cliking on Quote and then on (open in new window)? I find this easier than opening internet explorer and getting to the thread from scratch.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page there is a topic review window where you can see the thread.

I don't have any right click options aaprt from the obvious copy, paste, etc.

Yes!
I never payed any attention to it for the forum banner looked like nothing more than just another copy of the one at the top. It was almost, inconsequential.:)
Now I'm a happy bunny!

What version of Internet Explorer are you using? In version 5.5 right clicking on a link gives you a contextual menu that includes 'Open in New Window'. It's an extremely useful tool, I use it dozens of times a day.

I see what you mean Jupe. I never noticed the quote link at the bottom, as upto now I've only seen/used the quote button at the top of the reply window. It's there that the context-sensitive list differs. Now I really know where to look!!
Btw, just Shift+click a link to open it in a new window.
