Seems like blue Loc-tite would fix that.

Odyssey 41 Thermals, for sure. Mine have held up to a lot of abuse in the last year and a half, and Odyssey isn't shady with their warranties, either.

If i was to buy new cranks i'd get ody 41 thremals or profiles, i know alot of people that have these cranks and they are both super good. As for redline monster cranks, i have a set that ive been running for about 2 years now and they seem alright. I got them because they were all i could afford at the time. I was running dk chop sticks before them and i cracked the left arm where the spindle goes into the arm. The redlines have american sealed bearings and they seem to be pretty good, i havent really had much trouble with them and they have held up better then the chop sticks. if you arent on a budget though id look for something else.

I really like the 04 oddy black widows chrome.

Black Widows are aluminum.
if your not doing street nothing wrong with aluminum.
^So are rims. But yeah, they're probably polished al.
Primo Powerbite (and possibly the hollowbites) are the strongest cranks, and they don't get the loosening problem that splined cranks get. Whether you need the strongest cranks is a different matter entirely.

He stated that they were chrome. I was correcting his error.
And, as I've stated before, the fact that several Odyssey employees are on record as having said that no one should buy those cranks, they are, in fact, crap.
edit: C'mon, Dooley. We all know that the OG Solid cranks were way the hell stronger than the Powerbites.

Well, they did weigh more than 60oz, after all.
If I ever see a pair going cheap I might buy them, I have a first gen Miron with 4lb Gsport forks at home that would make the perfect home for them.

Don't forget the Sharp sprocket and 1/4" chain.

what does every1 think of the haro cranks?
what does every1 think of the haro cranks?
why would you buy them when you could save up the extra money for cranks that would last much longer

I'm not REALLY on a budget. Sure I'd rather only spend $85 instead of $140, but if the $140 cranks are really that much better, I'll buy them.
I don't get if the Monsters are good, why wouldn't you suggest them over the more expensive cranks?

Apparently you've never seen "tech tip no. 35: if you shave that heavy thread right off your nice rubbers, you can", "How Do I Do A Curb Endo?", or "The BMXBoard House" at BMXBoard, if you think that that pile of waste is the "best thread ever".

Is there a point you want to make that's in that thread? I don't really care to sift through the bickering.

Because there is nothing great about them, I havent really run them very hard so i can't really comment on how much abuse they will be able to take, they do loosen up and creak every now and then but i dont ride them enough for them to be a bother. I own 3 bikes so they dont get beaten like my other cranks do. acctually right now my other crnnks that are getting the most use right now are just a set of unsleald 3 pc cranks that are very similar to the redlines but without the sealed bb. They are holding up ok but by the spring i am pretty much completly over hauling 2 of my bikes. Your best bet is to stay away from cheap cranks if you're not on a budget, you get what you pay for so if you spend the money and get some nice cranks you wont regret it. Look on ebay, sometimes you can get a hold of a set of profiles for around $100 usd. Unless you can't afford it don't go with the redlines
