didnt know if i should post this here or not, but since its a mtb i guess i will. I have a 2 - 2.5 hr drive today in rain and want to put the bike on the rack ontop of the car. Is it safe for the bike to be subjected to the rain like that for a few hours time? what do most of you folks do when you have to bring your bike somewhere and its pouring out? Should i make sure its completely dry afterwards? towel it down?

i don't know what the rain might do to it but if you have quickrelease wheels you might be able do fit the bike in the boot???
just a suggestion.

Roofrack in the rain? erf..
Well, I would suggent at least covering the upper and lower races of the headset with electrical tape to keep the wind from forcing moisture inside. I would also suggest covering your seat with a plactic bag if its leather. Dont remove it from the frame since water would then get inside. I would give it a good drying off when you get there, inclusing the components and chain.
goos luck.
