Wang Jiaxiong from northwest China's Shaanxi province falls to his death while trying to jump over the Great Wall in Tianjin, China, on October 2, 2002. Wang tried to clear the wall on his bike after riding down a 35-metre high, 76-metre long runway. Picture taken October 2. REUTERS/China Photo

I don't know about the rest of ya'll but that is just disturbing to me. In one of the photos you can see the blood on the ground thats dripping from his face. Sigh...

Joe, Eval Knievel had the same problem. Sad, but you can't stop the madness.
My only question was, why did the "promoters" help carry him away? They should have hid their faces in shame for how they used up this young man for cash.
Pride is before a crash...

I give the guy a 10 for form. He almost got the chalk body outline thing going in mid air.

A popular brand of bicycle in China is called the Flying Pigeon. I wonder if that's what he was riding?

There is also a Chinese bicycle brand called "Phoenix".
I saw one Phoenix recently. It is so heavy like you would not believe. It is made from the industrial steel.
I don't know what to say. I'm stunned. Just look at him falling to his death, holding his arms out to attempt to soften the blow. People trying to help him in this emergency, carrying him, caring for him, when he is... dead. Gone. A great life he must've had to be jumping with that skill, pushing his life to the test, the last moment of life was his largest fear - falling from a 30-50 foot drop, airbourne for seconds, with nothing to do but watch himself die from first perspective.
Maybe he did it for us?
Perhaps he wanted to attract attention to cycling as alternative transportation or something else?
I've been to the wall where he did that and it isn't something you want to fall from!
Did you notice the 'professional' emergency care he received after crashing? They assisted him by grabbing his arms and legs and hauling him. Crack, snapple, pop!
Sometime, I should start a thread about the horrific health care providers I have seen overseas. God bless America.
Pretty scarey stuff.
I was going to joke about "I believe I can fly", but that doesn't seem right here.
Rest in Peace!

I realize this news was posted on Yahoo. I did look at the thread, but I'm finding this actually true. I mean look at the picture in this thread. It looks like that dude and the bike were superimposed in the picture. The other pictures on the yahoo site, I guess could be real.
All I can really say is ouch, and that sucks.
