Bicycle Mechanics - Ride Because We Can

Let's organize a nationwide memorial ride in honor of sydney. The idea is simple.... we all ride our local neighborhoods on the same day at the same time... Get your local club to join in, or just hit the road yourself. We need to identify ourselves somehow... perhaps a jersey, or a cardboard sign attached to the back of the jersey...

Just think... if one person sees it.. just one persons decides not to use that cell phone when driving, or pays a bicyclist a little more attention... it could save a life. Who knows who the next one will be... Koffee? Slovoid? Ranger? Operator? 55/rAD? Ziggurat? Phantomcow? Me?

It is great to start threads to express sorrow, but why not use that energy to try to make a difference?

What would old Sydney be saying right now? would it be "Ho-hum... no big deal... my family will get by just fine without me this Christmas... at least the forum people have remembered me"

Or, would he be Pissed Off and saying "($%^ this @&%^!!! after all the priceless advice I gave you *$%^@#"s you better get out there and ride to make a difference!!"

Let me know if anyone is interested... If not, that is ok... I know that I will be making the ride... Perhaps 12/18.. or 12/24...

I'm in... but I think sooner than later is better, as snow and inclement weather will just become more likely as the days progress.

I'm in! I'd love to do a ride in the DC area. Perhaps it can be the "First Annual Carpet Smokers' Ride" :)

I have been practicing riding and picking my nose at the same time, in honor of Sydney.

I do not know what I can do but I will try.

I live in Asia , but i can ride . Only i would be riding at night and there are not many cars around. Keep me posted on when is the date. Who is sydney? Is he a member here?
