Bicycle Mechanics - Torque Specs for Giant TCR Carbon?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I need to get the torque specs for the seat collar and carbon steerer tube on the fork. I'm building up a Giant TCR 0 w/ Dura- Ace gruppo ;)
Generally these two things don't have torque specs. Seat posts are tightened just enough to keep them from slipping and headsets are preloaded by applying the least pressure possible while having no side play at all in the steerer. So let function be your guide.

I have the specs at work(Day off). I will call up there and see if I can get someone to rummage thru my stuff and find them.
I got the torque specs from my little day trip. Thanks for the info!!!

My manual for carbon frame says: The torque wrench setting should not exceed 8 Nm for the seat clamp.
The stem says: Torque 7-8 Nm to a carbon steer tube.
I would disregard what the previous poster says about not having torque settings. Todays frames and components sure do have torque guidelines. Its not like in the old days where you crank the heck out of it then crank it some more.
