General Cycling Discussion - I did my 2nd Century

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Last Saturday I did 102.7 miles, today I did 103.4 miles. I got stung by a bee at mile 23 (right behind my knee in the bend of the leg). It made the next 80 miles "uncomfortable" and I don't think I'll be following up the ride tomorrow. My average speed was slower than last week (about 16.x MPH) but I did do the first 38.4 miles in 2Hrs 11 Minutes with about 10 minutes of breaktime in there (2 bathroom breaks... I drank to much gatorade and it was muggy as hell). There are a few decent climbs and it was pretty wet out there to boot! I was soaking wet at the stop at 23 miles where I got stung. My camera is sucking so the pic of the the Sigma is weak! I hope theres better lighting tomorrow so I can get a decent pic of it. Well, back to bed and the cold pack on the bee sting.
Here is the pic I took, but it sucks!!!!
Congratulations!
I will try to cycle today the metric century - 100 km.
The picture is OK, I can see the figures. What was the route? Did you ride to some nearby town and then returned back?
What was your motivation?

Alexey,
I rode through 3 counties, then turned around and came back. My motivation is that I love to ride bicycles and seeing just what I can do on one. I started with 20 mile rides, then 40, then Metric Centuries and then Centuries. I plan on doing a group Centruy ride next month. The 2 I have done so far have been solo. Good luck on your Metric Century today! It's a long way to ride a bike!!! My riding buddy Pedaler is going out to do a 60 mile ride today and I 'm at home :( due to the bee sting.
What is your motivation to ride the Metric today?
Later and have a good ride!!!

Well done.
Your camera seems just fine. It would appear that is has simply focussed on the tree and the grass.
Congrats
By the way, is your front wheel misaligned or is it just the picture?

The camera has auto focus but I can't get the Sigma to be the object of focus :o
The front wheel is aligned ok. In the picture the bike is leaning on a tree and I'm at an angle trying to get the @#$%& camera to focus on the Sigma.
I'm done trying, so I admit defeat at the hands of Sony Digital Cam's!!!

Hi Ti-Carbo,
most autofocus cameras will let you freeze the focus. For example, point the camera at a wall or tree or something that is about 2 feet away from you and push the shutter button half-way. This will freeze the focus at 2 feet. Then continue holding the button half-way and go point the lens at your bike computer and snap the pic.
BTW, congrats on finishing your century. Good show!

The 2nd cheapest Sigma. BT401
It shows time, trip, MPH and total miles.
I have the top of the line Sigma on my MTB, but I never use the extra features... So I figured I'd put the extra $$$ into go-fast parts!
As far as the camera goes, It takes great pics of large objects, just those small ones are a chore.
Later and ride hard,
PS>>> Thanks for all the  on my 2nd Century! Next Saturday I hope to make it a 3-peat!
