Currently I do my 10 mile commute on a Specialized Sirrus (a road bike with straight bars). But snow and muck are coming soon, and perhaps some ice from time to time as we still get in New England. My skinny 120lb tires aren't going to make it for much longer.
I'm looking at getting a mountain bike with hydraulic disc brakes for the bad days that will accomodate a 6 foot 4 inch 200 lb human (me). Dahon makes a folder with these features called the ZERO-G - but I haven't found anybody who has ridden one to ask about how well they would deal with street riding in snow. Comments?

Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
