Recreational & Family - Christmas List

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I ride a hybrid bike stictly for pleasure. Generally rides are around 10 to 15 miles. Family wants suggestions for Christmas gifts this year. I don't have any biking shorts or jerseys, would this be overkill for a biker like me?
What items are you putting on your Chirstmas list for Santa this year?

I don't think the shorts would be overkill for you. The padding in bike shorts can make a big difference.

Bike shorts are never overkill, but you may end up riding up to 50 miles and wanting a road bike before too long. Other things to consider may be a bike computer, a handlebar bag, a helmet, a headlight, or a pump.
The computer is on the list, have a pump and of course a helmet. I have a large size wedge bag, too, for the tools and CO2 pump. I think the shorts will be something I will ask for.
What does everyone else want?

gloves, base layers such as the DeFeet undie shirts, winter gear, tubes, socks (DeFeet, Sock Guy, etc. fun socks), clipless pedals/clipless shoes.

I never have enough bike shorts, but I try to ride everyday. You can't have too many tools either. Many bike tools are small and can be prone to misplacing.
On my list, there will be tools, books, another cyclo-computer, another headlight and tailight, bar ends, seat, gloves, and cleaners and lubricants. Stuff like that.
yup you are hooked.you will never be the same now.I am wanting a jersey but prolly won't get it.A water hydration system is always good.camelback or such.that is something else I want.I get awful dry on my rides.1 waterbottle is not enouph.I want to be sure that I have plenty of water.Last year I got smooth tires but now I want a roadie.it dosn't take long.good luck
