I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on these two Craft baselayers. Competitive Cyclist http://www.competitivecyclist.com says that the Active Wool is for even colder temps than the S3 Windblock.

Does anyone have both of these? I have the S3 and it is very good, but if the Active Wool is better at lower temps I would like to know.

Hi,
wool is great stuff. It's a pain to clean. Kinda the tubulars
of the bike clothing world. I wore a nice wool sweater as a base layer today. It's a Patagonia, and I wish they still made them.
I have two and love them. But now I have to wash it....

mmm, wool..

Always go with nature's miracle fiber if you have a choice. Way better temperature and moisture regulation. You stay dry a lot longer. And better odor control. You can wear a wool jersey five full days of cycling and only then begin to notice some odor. The stuff even works when it sunny and 100 out. No lie.

if the Craft Activewool layer is not 100% wool, it may have the best combination of characteristics of both fibers, but usually any significant poly % for insulation (not lycra) is a trade DOWN in terms of performance, in my experience.
