View Full Version : DaVinci Decoded
For all you people that like to invent, build, and create (you too, Slvoid :D), the History channel is doing a 2 hour special all week on DaVinci and his life. It's fascinating.

The History Channel broadcasted such nonsense this saturday that I had to turn it off.
Hit or miss with the H channel.
Luckily, it's a hit here.

I was afraid it was about that book(or books-don't know, don't care), but this might be worth checkin' out. They do seem to float between supposition and actual history a bit too much at times, I must say.
It is very good, I thought... talks a bit about the conflict with Michelangelo, but I'm not finished viewing it either.
He was such a brilliant guy. I had no idea he wrote backwards.

I agree. He was, and will be my hero/role model. I caught the very end last night, since i forgot it was airing due to...riding my bike! (I know, get a life right? :p ) I have no idea how some people have managed to create careers trying to discredit Leo as the pioneer of the velocipede- I mean the man had already engineered cranks, spindles, crankarms, pulleys, etc. But a bicycle? Heavens no! That would have been impossible for a man of his time, in these people's opinion. But there's the rub -he wasn't a man of his times, he was clearly ahead of everyone else.
Anyway, thanks for the thread, Koffee, your interests are diverse, and you don't mind mixing it up with 'the boys'. :D

I wish I wrote Dan Brown's book. I'd be awash in women. That book is the ultimate chick magnet (in its own way).

Well the good thing is that it's coming back on at least a couple of more times. Check the History channel website. It really is very good.

Leo was just a sexy mofo, and his sexiness rubs off on everything he touches. :p
(I can write backwards too, and let me just say that I've never had a bad response to a reverse-script love letter -ever!)

Yup. The key is, she has to hold it up to a mirror to de-code it. If you leave someone with a lockbox and key, then instruct them not to let anyone see the contents, guess what they will think about all day?
What's in the box? I actually taught myself how to do it as a 9 year old kid studying Leo, and I read that he wrote backwards so no one could look over his journal. Cool, I thought, now I can freely express myself. Then I discovered girls, and found a new application for my skills! :D

Is any girl really worth that much trouble? -I mean, in addition to the trouble that they already are? ... I usually just stick with the; "hey girl, thats some ***.. -infact that *** is so big it's got its own gravitation field thats pulling me into it.. no, no, it's pulling me closer, I can't stop it!" ..-works (almost) every time

That is the corniest, most ridiculous thing. Guys say that ALL THE TIME, and lemmie tell you, it just makes me want to run in the other direction. It's a ghetto pick up line for the uncouth.
Uuugh, I just dry heaved. Sorry.

Koffee, I feel a little responsible for the locker room vibe, so I apologize.
I would mirror-write you a letter and scan it so I could send you a cool PM, but then you would have to drag your monitor into the bathroom to read it in the vanity, so I just kept it simple. :)

The H channel show was good. I saw the last half of it. Yes Koffee... the whole DeVinci thing is very interesting. I'm gonna catch some more of it.
Serrendipper.... very creative and post #14 gave me a good chuckle. Thanks!

Oh, I forgot to mention that line only works if you say it in one of the romance languages like french or latin...otherwise it's only good for trolling :D

-And by the way, Serendipper, yes, that kind of locker room humour
has no place in a high brow thread discussing the great DaVinci himself...I'm a bit surprised at you!
We are only men, red house, DaVinci had his moments, I assure you. And that's not a highbrow, it's a widow's peak. Runs in the family. ;)
