Hi all,

I am a new "commuter cyclist". I just recently sold my very economical car for an 06 Specialized Sirrus and am using it to commute everyday to work (~ 8 miles one-way). Enjoying it so far and I seem to be 'hooked' as I had the opportunity to use my wife's car this morning but opted to ride!

Looking forward to talking with you all!

Welcome to the forums.
There are a number from NC here. I don't know how many are commuters, but the variety of forums can help with whatever your question may be.

Hey there, from Durham.

I commute sometimes, but the the currently cold 21 miles each way to Chapel Hill, has been making me ride indoors recently! I also spend a lot of time on the American Tobacco Trail in Durham, but you probably realize it runs through your neck of the woods as well. Are you using the ATT for any of your commute?

Welcome!

Thanks for all the replies!

Redrom, I have not yet rode on the ATT. I ride from NC55 using backroads to Morrisville-Carpenter Rd. Unfortunately there are no greenways from Apex to Morrisville.

The cold takes a little getting used to (27 on morning this past week!), but I love riding and the only thing that gets cold are my fingers. I think I am going to buy some cheap wool gloves to take care of that.
