Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - BMC track?

i'm usually not into modern ****, but this is fresh. is this in production?

there was a thread on this a while back where some people had aneurysms over the 73/73 angles, and other people said, "wow, look at that seattube cluster dealiemaphone."

i haven't slept and was mesmorized by the dealiemaphone...

looking at the road version vs this, it is the same w/ different dropouts.

Maybe it's just the angle from which the photo was taken, but the chainstays look almost horizontal to me. Wouldn't that put the bottom bracket up where most track bikes have them?

There's something about BMC's graphics, colors, and maybe even their name, that makes me think of PVC plastic pipe.

I had email exchanges with their US rep. It is a road thingie. I'm sure it would make a super sweet street ride, BMC makes great bikes, sure. But it is no track thouroughbred. Whether you'd be striking pedals would depend on where you were racing and what kind of pedals you were running, I think. It does have a higher BB than their road bikes, but as Mr. Walker notes, that is a relative comparison, and it BB may still be objectively not s'high.

For that kind of money, why not just get a custom frame from Crumpton (http://www.crumptoncycles.com/carbonframes.html).

And most BB drops on track bikes are either 55mm or 50mm.

can somebody post the geometry of a road vs track frame?
im trying to picture the differences but i just can't visualize it

The Swiss ****ing rock. While I would never ride this track bike, I would ride the team Phonak bike anyday. That new carbon Colnago track bike has road geo too. Someone knows something that we dont.

The road geo track bike is for those road riders who want to use a fixed gear in the winter, but want to retain the comfort of their road bikes.

The track geo is for the track.

Rest assured, when Marty Northstein races (raced) on his Colnago he isn't racing on a frame with road geometry.

The BMC, Colnago, and Anchor are all hot as f*ck. Also hot are the Corima, BT, Pinarello Montello, Look, etc. I'd take any one of 'em any day of the week.
