Can anyone give me a specific bike to buy. I think i want a hardtail because i will be loading it up for touring off road. Dependabity is my number one concern.

About as specific as your question!
We'd love to help, but you need to provide a bit more info. Then, you have to spend some time and go on some test rides. Go to ALL your local bike shops (LBS) and ride as many different bikes as you can. Through a bit of time investment, you'll find the one that is the most comfortable for you!
If you don't want to spend the time, I'd suggest a Giant, Trek, Gary Fisher, Cannondale, Haro, Specialized, Kona, Rocky Mountain,....etc. Too many to choose just one from!
Either that or buy Klein's Specialized! It's a good deal!
