im a noob at this, so i need some help. which one, in general has better components and which one would you recommend out of the trek7200 and the raleigh passage 4.0. thanks
I thoroughly compared the Trek 7300 with the Passage 5.0 and went with the Raleigh. I am very pleased. Actually the Passage 4.0 is virtually the same bike but without disc brakes. I really like the rapid shifters as opposed to the twist handle shifters, so that is what sold me on Raleigh.
Both bikes are quality and you may let price be your deciding factor.

lol. thats a problem. the passage 4.0 is $360, and the trek 7200 is $400. but my LBS is offereing a 10% discount on all treks, making the two bikes the same price.

I think the specs on the Raliegh give it a slight edge. Better brakes, better shifting, 34t vs 32t granny gear.
Ride them both and see what you think. The shifters in my opinion are superior, all the more expensive hybrids use trigger shifters. Basically they are identical, frames made in China, and the components virtually the same. You won't regret either one.

I like Treks and think the resale is better on them. If you plan to keep it, go with the one that suits your needs and likes.
