I once browsed a vegetarian magazine, and in it was a debate about biting fingernails. The question was: could a person really be a vegetarian if they bit their fingernails and SWALLOWED the fingernail bits! I'm not making this up!

So, that brings me to another question. Vegans don't eat any product that has its source in a living thing.

One should note that what mainstream people today say about vegans was by mainstream people in the past (unfortunately also present) about

1) women
2) other peoples
3) homosexuals, lesbians, gender queers of all sorts

It has taken me quite awhile to not automatically want to fault these people. They are not all bigoted by intention, but just following the mainstream reaction to any relatively new idea. It is something to cringe at though. People are so quick to judge others, even very little information. You would think we, as rational beings, would be above this.

Luckily, the only hostility I have ever encountered has been on message boards, where the person is anonymous.

When one weighs more, smells worse, and is not as healthy as they can be
it becomes quite a burden over time. Im glad I can give carnivors something
to unburden thier pent up hostilies upon. By being a Veggie, I am providing
two services to humanity :D
