I am looking into riding a century in December. I have been doing a ton of road miles on my Gary Fisher hard tail and am about to convert my tires to slicks. Does anyone have a favorite tire and maybe a website to make the purchase from?

I thought the max PSI says 150? Have to go home and check.

Would the Hutchinson mount on my Gary fisher Tassajara with the rims that use a 2.1 inch tire? Or would I have to change rims?

most of the MTB slicks will work with most normal MTB rims... BUT the additional pressure can cause problems on a rim normally set up for 35-50psi with 90-110psi: a few years ago for a Pacific Coast tour, i had the Specialized slicks and i had a large number of flats - so did my riding partner. turns out that the rim tape was too thin and the tube was breaking where it meets the nipple holes. I used 3-4 wraps of rim tape and solved my problem... although my friend claims that the high-pressure prematurely destroyed his rims (after one tour of about 1600 miles)

in any case, pay attention to the rim tape/band and make sure it's thick enough for the additional pressure. oh yeah, forgot the name, but i was quite happy with the Specialized slicks, although i there are many good ones.
