We've decided to get new bikes for our first tour abroad. Here's my listing. I hope you have a quick connection and good sized monitor. : )

Actually MS Frontpage sized my photos down from 930 wide for some reason without me realizing it. This was my first time using that program but my auctions normally look like this one. Frontpage took some of the work out of it but I'm not happy about the photo sizing.

I'll be adding listings for my Arkel Big Bar bag, a couple of sleeping bags we used for bike touring, Shimano touring SPD sandals and some other stuff like a Palm T3, soon.

I'm on the fence over whether to opt for Dual Drive on my new Friday or go with what I know, the triple front ring. I've not seen Dual Drive in person and have heard some end up not liking it. I'm talking to Bike Friday tomorrow about the shifting options. If twist shift is still available then I may go that route. Decisions! Decisions! :fight:

Why'd it end early?

That was quick.

"Auction ended early with Buy It Now."

Well, it's a great looking bike. I bet the buyer is going to love it.
And, of course, shipping it to them is relatively easy! ;)

Love to hear what you decide on for the new bike - grouppo, paint etc.
(I vote Fire Engine red and the Capreo group ;) Check Sheldon's gear calculator to see what a front triple with the Capreo would give you for gear-inches. (I bet you'd get a nutty range like 18-118)

p.s. I have SRAM MRX grip-shifts on my KHS folder activating a Shimano derailleur. Instant response, brain-dead easy and you can "jump" a bunch of gears at once if you want to bail. :)

That was a beautiful bike you sold. Bike Friday really makes great looking bikes. I wanted it but I'm 5'7 plus there are waaaaay too many bikes in my place. You have good taste in bikes.

Your next Bike Friday should have a tripple and forget the Dual Drive. The dual drive uses the inefficient Sram Spectro 3 and as someone posted on another thread, you'll lose 5-15% performance using that hub. You'll notice it right when shifting to a higher gear because the Spectro when shifted in 3rd gear is a waaaaay out there. You'll only give up the ability to shift down at the lights but that's a minor issue if you're not the type of person who shifts like crazy at every stop light.

In fact, I read on your EBay listing that you're going to a higher performance Bike Friday. Good for you. Don't handicap it by using the Dual Drive or you'll get the same performance as your NWT.

Agreed ... I bought my BF Pocket Rocket on Ebay and it came with Dual Drive. After a few rides I swapped it out for a triple. No regrets.

Indeed it went fast. The gent never asked a question or contacted me prior to pressing "Buy-It-Now". Probably couldn't think of one given the mind numbing detail of my listing. :D

I got the cash instantly and left due feedback that night. That beauty of a NWT is on its way to Colorado now. Packed the suitcase in a box that the UPS store made for it. I charged $60 for shipping and handling and it came to about $75 counting about $7 worth of overpriced bubble wrap that I bought and used to pad the bike with.

Nice guy to sell a bike to. He's been at riding a long time and loves doing it.

Just killing time, waiting on our two new NWTs. It won't be long now! :D
