Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Looks like some rough going in Chicago. Nice to see the SS though.

To give credit where it is due, I got this from a Foxnews story (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,178131,00.html) on the weather in the midwest.

it was pretty rough. mostly because the cars (which weren't moving very much) forcing you into deeper snow. which meant that once i hit the ice underneath the bike would fly out under me.
i guess i needed the snow studded tires tonight. but i really only fell twice.

I'm lucky, it stopped snowing here in Kyoto on Wednesday. Today's ride was much more pleasent:

We got a light layer of snow last night which made riding in more interesting. I brought the ice skates for the downtown rink for lunch fun but if a melt/freeze happens I may use those instead of riding home :)
Yah, I had a nice ride this morning except for the headwind blowing snow into my face. Too warm for a balaclava, so I just toughed it out.
I have the same seat-lights that chivespa1 has. They quit working though. Not sure why. Abuse, probably. :)
10 cm last night, packed snow is the worst, unspoiled powder is smooth sailing. That chicago pic doesn't look so bad.
