Do you have/have you seen the vinyl copy of this album. ****ING AMAZING PACKAGE. The whole grey-scale thing is like a slip sleeve with the color stuff as the real jacket inside....
BTW, all shellac vinly LPs come with a copy of the CD. Makes me wonder why they even sell it as CD only?

Yup, got it on vinyl. I was actually just telling a friend of mine that it was an amazingly packaged album. I wish more bands included the cd with their albums. I prefer the sound of vinyl but if it's something I like alot I'll want it in both formats anyway, for trips ect.

On the way home from work I was listening to Frank Kimbrough's Play. Frank reminds me of Paul Bley sometimes, the way he phrases things. And Paul Motian is timeless.

some stephen foster tunes. some are incredible in that they have permeated the american consciousness to such an extent that you sort of assume that they always existed--"camptown races", "i dream of jeannie with the light brown hair", whatever--but there's also "old folks at home" which...man, i don't care if it was written during reconstruction...it's lightweight racist. newer recordings say "my heart is yearning ever", this old version i found says "*******, my heart is..."

I really liked "No Kill No Beep Beep", although some of the demos were actually better than the album versions (Kiss Distinctly American, for example).
Their albums, to me, seemed to get progressively worse.

It's a tough call...I like "no kill..." better than the others but enjoy them all for what they are. You can definitely tell the guys from El Guapo/Supersystem produced Power though. Sounds like they had a lot of influence on it.

Definitely. I agree in that No Kill is probably my fav, but I've been getting into more funky and produced stuff lately, so when 'Wonderful People' kicks in at the beginning of Power I can't help but feel it.

BUT ANYWAY..i can start posting album names up there with my pics, and since a lot of this i dont have on digital means, i dont know how much i can upload, but i do have like a few hundred albums up for grabs on soulseek, thats the one i use the most.
The last album i posted up there is the first album the dudes released as "animal collective" called "here comes the indian" which i think you'll dig.
